Should we go by statistics and figures or by her words? Mayawati claims of not having support from Samajwadi Party. She has mentioned that Akhilesh Yadav’s party hasn’t given any votes to BSP. However, going by a comparison of figures, she has received double the figures of votes in this election than what had received in 2014. This indicates that SP’s votes converted into BSP’s, but has this actually happened? As compared with 5 seats in 2014, SP still has these 5 with it. On the other hand, BSP didn’t have a single seat in 2014, but this time it has 10 seats. This means that BSP was benefitted by SP, quite clearly. Other side of the coin is that she was expecting to have 50 seats so she could be able to apply for Prime Ministerial position, while Yadav could take the charge in the state, as per her discussion with Chandrababu Naidu.
