BJP wanted to align with Mrs Anupriya Patel of Apna Dal for Varanasi but due to seat adjustment problems the deal could not be finalized, sources say. BJP was agreed to give Apna Dal ten seats whereas Mrs Patel wanted to have fifteen seats and both parties contested separately. Sources say both managed five seats each, SP managed the maximum, after analysis of voting patterns, it is found that BJP was second in five constituencies and Apna Dal on twenty seats. If both have contested together could have bagged at least twenty-six seats more and this should have been a morale booster for both, sources say. More seats in Panchayat would have helped BJP to contest on strong turf in coming elections, sources say?
