Some years back PM inaugurated Delhi- Meerut highway and also had a roadshow of 15 kms. Entire programs were shown throughout the country live aiming to show countrymen the progress in creating a net of highways, sources say. This time after completion of the project it is planned to have a roadshow but sources say that in between Dasana and Meerut the highway has sunk at many places due to heavy rains. The total cost of the construction of the express highway has come to approximately Rs. 8346 crores. The same condition has been reported for the Bhopal highway. The minister in the meeting agreed that quality has been compromised and suitable actions initiated to find out guilty and further added that he knows that cuts are common on such projects and he is trying to minimize the cuts for better quality, sources say. The construction cost per kilometer in the past was Rs. 4-6 crores which have become Rs. 20 crores per kilometers, sources say and the quality is known to everyone after such reporting of highways almost in the heart of Delhi?
