As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) seeks to regain its footing in Delhi's political landscape after a series of electoral defeats, the party is strategically positioning Pravesh Verma as a potential candidate for the Chief Minister's chair in the upcoming elections, likely to take place in February 2025 source says.  Sources reveal that the party views Verma, who hails from a Kisan and Jat background, as an ideal leader to counter the ex-Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, representing New Delhi constituency presently, who is known for his strong urban appeal and has deep roots in the city's political fabric source says.

Pravesh Verma, the son of former Chief Minister Saheb Singh Verma, has been identified as a promising face among BJP's ranks. Although he was not granted a ticket to contest in the last parliamentary elections, the party’s strategists are optimistic about his chances in the New Delhi seat, which is considered a prestigious and significant constituency source says. This seat carries historical importance, as it was here that Kejriwal notably defeated the late Sheila Dixit, a three-time MLA and CM, a respected leader in Delhi politics, thereby navigating the political landscape toward his own Chief Ministership source says.
