In a major development in the power corridors, it has been learned that CBI director Subodh Jaiswal is likely to get one year extension. According to top sources, South Block seems to be in the mood to continue with Jaiswal. If Jaiswal gets one year extension then perhaps, he would be the first CBI chief to remain in office beyond two year rule(amended in 2021 to pave way for three annual extensions) . "Though, there are dark horses lining up but seeing the current mood of power corridors, an extension of one year may soon be notified by the ACC", a well place source said.
