High Power Committee For New CBI Director To Meet Today In Evening: Extension Likely But Will Delhi Police Get Second Chance?

The current CBI Director Subodh Jaiswal's tenure is going to end at the end of this month, consequently, the most awaited High Power Committee Meeting is being scheduled to choose a new CBI Director in the evening today. As per rule, the meeting is called up to select a new CBI boss but ever since the amendment in CVC Act, extension approval also requires a committee nod. Some say that extension is likely to Jaiswal but some say that since extension matter is under Supreme Court scanner, the chances are bleak. Top sources say that Delhi Police might get a second chance to head CBI after six years.
