As the deadlock-like condition continues in appointing a new Haryana DGP, the political top brass of Haryana seems to be in no mood to end this deadlock. According to top sources, it has been learned that despite UPSC's clear instructions to Haryana Government to follow the procedure and add Manoj Yadava's name, the Haryana Government has refused to comply with UPSC. The reason for not including Yadava's name is speculated to save Shatrujeet Kapoor from becoming ineligible because only three names are allowed to be sent. If Yadava gets into the list, one has to take the exit, and Kapoor being junior, will become ineligible for DGP, as per the top sources. How will UPSC react, and what will be the consequences of non-compliance be? Will it stall the process as we have seen with UP DGP, where UPSC sought explanations from the UP Government on the abrupt removal of Mukul Goel before moving ahead with the appointment of a new UP DGP. This perhaps triggered ad-hocism at UP DGP's position, and we have seen almost three additional charges in the past three to four months in UP. A similar story will repeat in Haryana, or things will settle down; that will get clear next month. But if everything goes smoothly, then Shatrujeet Kapoor will win the race. If deadlock mounts over Haryana Government, then in any case, an additional charge to Kapoor will be given as per top sources.
