"Coffee With Cop": Yet Another Gripping Initiative By DCP North Sagar Singh Kalsi

DCP North Sagar Singh Kalsi (IPS: UT: 2010) has launched an initiative, "Coffee with Cop" in collaboration with Miranda House to create a more friendly interface of confidence and trust between police and students. Specifically, this initiative aims to create a gender safety audit and reduce student-police conflicts. The initiative involves brief interactions by senior district police officials such as DCP, ADCP and ACPs  with groups of 20-40 students on wide-ranging issues like career, law and order etc, etc. This initiative further helps to shape a positive and responsible attitude towards society and helps them build confidence and trust between police and students, minimising the law and order issue and a wider range of other issues attached to students. The first session took place on 21st September 2023, where DCP Kalsi addressed a group of 100 students. The value-based policing of Kalsi has yet again focused not only on conflict mitigation at the personal and social level but also on value shaping.
