Every year on 23rd November UP Police proudly celebrates Flag Day. The head of police force(DGP) Vijay Kumar and senior officers Special DG Prashant Kumar and ADG Ravindra presented a memento to the UP Governor on the flag day occasion. The significance of flag day is that UP Police has privilege of being the first police force in the country to get a police flag in 1952 by the first Prime Minister of India, Jawahar Lal Nehru. The flag is a reminder of the forces's valour, courage and sacrifices. The history of flag day is associated with ancient and world history. The French leader Napoleon Bonaparte started the flag tradition. Similarly, in Mahabharata, the flag played an important role in reflecting the values and righteousness.
