    Heavy rains are lashing Chennai, and most parts of the city are said to be submerged. As Chennai battles, relief and rescue operations have begun in full swing, from Army and Administration to Railways. With already five dead and the situation expected to go more grim, the Chennai Police Commissioner Sandeep Rathore IPS: TN: 1992 has geared everything at his disposal to provide robust ground support. The police commissioner went on the field, took stock of the situation and distributed food items to people in low-lying areas. For a few days, Chennai Police has been in full swing in carrying out rescue and relief operation, which includes creating green corridors and extensive outreach efforts via a social media platform. As various challenges from drainage to relief operations remain, and cyclone Michanung is pounding the city, the coming days will be crucial for the Chennai police and central agencies.
