Outblown From Delhi Police's Overhaul

Weeks before Republic Day, the Delhi Police witnessed a massive overhaul at the Special CP level, including a few at the DCP level. An unexpected drop with only soft winds to only a few has sparked curiosity in the power circles. An overhaul that was expected to drop somewhere around in February(as per sources)  but got preponed to January that too at such a high scale, was quite a swift change in the power hierarchy of the Delhi Police. The reasons for this overhaul have no relation with the recently staged controversy; a well-placed source has cleared the air. The reason for this overhaul is simple yet complex. Simple because for a long time, Delhi Police has not gone for power reshuffling; the last time power reshuffling happened was during the tenure of the former Delhi Police Commissioner, and only small adjustments were followed until now for obvious reasons(G-20 reviews etc.). "This power reshuffle is rotunie in nature and no need to read between the lines" a top source said. This power reshuffle is complex because this reshuffle, to some extent, appears to be signalling an inverted reshuffling where operational and key post holders asked to take some rest and some seniors who were long waiting in queue were given a chance as most of the key post holders have completed a decent tenure of two years be it Law and Order, Special Cell and others. Top sources add, "Some are outblown from this overhaul, but it is an interesting police management to balance power games in Police Headquarters". As Delhi Police prepares for the next big test- Lok Sabha Elections this year, this team might continue until a cadre-level reshuffle takes place or calculations for the next DG prisons are made from the present matrix of Special CPs.
