The Special Commissioner of Police heading Delhi's Law and Order-II, Madhup Tiwari IPS: UT: 1995, has recently been appointed as Chandigarh DGP. However, top sources say that there are some second thoughts given in the power corridors on Tiwari's appointment. Sources add that considering Tiwari's current position, which is quite delicate in nature, and seeing a possible Law and Order situation in Delhi in the light of farmer's protests, etc., a decision is said to be in the making to consider a modification in Tiwari's appointment order. If Tiwari's order gets modified, indicating the cancellation of the appointment, then MHA may explore a few more names for the next Chandigarh DGP.
