    The incumbent DGP of Meghalaya L.R Bishnoi IPS: 1991 is set to retire this month after a successful two years of tenure as DGP. According to top sources, the process to appoint a new DGP has begun, and three names have been recommended by the UPSC. These are Idhashiha Norang IPS: 1992 batch currently DG Home Guards in Meghalaya Police. She has also served in the Intelligence Bureau. R.P Meena IPS: 1993 batch currently on central deputation in BSF. Third is Deepak Kumar IPS: 1994 who is also on central deputation in CRPF. Sources add that Norang is leading the race for the post of Meghalaya DGP.
