Homecoming Moment For Two DGs on Cards?

In a major development it has been learned from top sources that two serving DGs in centre may see a homecoming moment soon. It has been learned that top brass of Maharahstra Government has informally begun search of next state DGP and a hint of same was dropped when top brass of Maharashtra Government had meeting with top brass of New Delhi. Sources add that the Maharashtra Government has expressed its willingness to call DG NIA's Sadanand Date back to the state as its next DGP.

If MHA gives this development a green light then Date would replace Shukla as DGP and incumbent DG CRPF G.P Singh may take additional charge of DG NIA and perhaps continue to hold charge for considerable time, a similar arrangement that was in place with former CRPF DG Kuldiep Singh who oversaw two charges CRPF and NIA. This is significant as it marks a 'homecoming moment' for both Date and G.P Singh. For Date, it would be a return to the state after almost two years, and for G.P Singh, he would be returning to NIA after almost six years.
