Sanjay Arora Still Has A Long Inning To Play: Service Extension For Commissioner On Cards?

It has been learned from top sources that the Delhi Police Commissioner is most likely to get extension in service. Sources add that top brass have almost given the green light in principle to this proposal. If granted, Sanjay Arora would become the second Delhi Police Commissioner to secure an extension during office. The first was Amulya Patnaik, who got a one-month extension as Delhi Police Commissioner five years back.

The extension, according to top sources, was mulled in power corridors, perhaps because Sanjay Arora stood the test of time and delivered results in his three-year tenure. This further strongly inspired the confidence of not only MHA's top brass but also envisaged North Block's vision. Top sources add that a possible service extension also reflects opening of  other avenues for the Delhi Police Commissioner.
