The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is leaving no stone unturned in its battle against drugs. According to the data, the bureau's robust performance in 2023-2024 is evident in a significant 25% increase in drug seizures. Notably, Delhi has seen a staggering 200 per cent surge in drug seizures in recent years. The NCB's intensified efforts, including enhanced seizure and surveillance operations, are making a tangible impact in the fight against drugs.

The NCB is not just seizing drugs but also adopting a proactive approach to combat drug abuse. The bureau is developing soft deterrence tactics to rescue people from the drug menace and raise awareness of the national narco threat. In 2024, the NCB launched Mission SPANDAN, a collaborative initiative with five prominent spiritual organisations. This mission aims to integrate spirituality, awareness, and community engagement in the fight against drug abuse. Similarly, the NCB's Nasha Mukt Pakhwada, which has been ongoing since 11 June 2025, is a testament to the collective resolve and unity in promoting a Drug-Free India. This initiative has garnered active participation from enforcement agencies, youth volunteers, banking institutions, NGOs, and citizens nationwide.

As part of the Nasha Mukt Pakhwada, a series of impactful events—including Walkathons, Cyclothons, and Bike Rallies—were organised with enthusiastic participation from renowned personalities, NGOs, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), school and college students, as well as members of the public. On 22 June 2025, NCB organised a series of Cyclotrons and Bike Rallies across its zonal units. In New Delhi, the Cyclothon was flagged off by the National Police Memorial by the Director General of the NCB, who also led the rally alongside over 1,000 participants, including personnel from the NCB, Delhi Police, CAPFs, Brahma Kumaris, and community groups. Olympian Sarita Mor and senior officials from NCB and Delhi Police were also present.

Speaking on the occasion, DG, NCB emphasised that the fight against drug abuse requires not only enforcement but collective societal commitment, including from families, youth, and institutions. On the same day, the cyclotron/ bike rallies were organised at 13 locations all over India.
