The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has finally drawn swords against G Ramgopal Naik, IPS (AGMUT: 2017) - an AGMUT cadre officer who apparently took the concept of "work-life balance" to extraordinary new heights. He recently transitioned from DANIPS to IPS.
Going Wrong Naik transferred to Arunachal Pradesh on 13th December relieved on 3rd January and reporting status- Still Missing in Action after months Professional Ghosting In December 2024, Naik submitted a representation to cancel his transfer order. When the MHA predictably rejected it, but Naik perhaps decided- "no" clearly meant "maybe later" and simply... didn't show up. Interestingly Arunachal Pradesh Government, after waiting patiently for months, finally threw in the towel and informed the MHA: Naik's whereabouts are unknown, with the phone switched off
MHA Warning Shot The Ministry, showing remarkable patience, served Naik with a "speaking order" with crystal clear consequences Medical Drama When the heat became unbearable, Naik suddenly discovered the wonderful world of medical leave applications. Two submissions to MHA and Arunachal Pradesh Government both were Vague and unconvincing Doubtfully authentic and Suspiciously timed. MHA response was swift- notice demanding explanations. The Final Sword After months of this elaborate game of bureaucratic cat-and-mouse, the MHA has decided to initiate full fledged disciplinary inquiry against him on charges of misconduct and misbehavior.
