BJP is trying to save face in the light of the challenge of the CM of West Bengal that now no entry for BJP in the state source says. To reorganize the party BJP needs some popular face and for that, they are trying to take Saurav Ganguli, president of BCCI and past president of CAB into the party source says. Ganguly became president of BCCI in the year 2019 and his present term is expiring on the 27th of July. It is almost certain that Ganguly is being nominated for the upper house. BJP expects Bengal Tiger to rejuvenate the party and help to retain 18 seats in the next election source says. Till recently Ganguly opposed joining BJP but now his actions hint that due to his compulsions he is likely to adopt a soft approach towards the BJP sources say. Recently on a tour of West Bengal, the HM was the Honourable guest for dinner at the residence of Ganguly sources added. As per the Lodha committee report, a person can’t continue beyond two terms of three years as president of any cricket board and Ganguly has already completed two terms and wants to continue further source says. BCCI has already gone to court to change the rule and waive off the cooling period of three years before the new term the source says. People in high positions and power only can help him and probably this is the reason for the change in behavior of Ganguly?
