The rumours have been in the corridors for a long that RLD will switch over to NDA, leaving its alliance with the Samajwadi party in UP, a source says. Ultimately, this has been proved right, and Jayant Chaudhary announced going for BJP, who selected his grandfather, the late Charan Singh, ex-PM of the country, for the country's highest award, ‘Bharat Ratna’ a source says. Jayant Chaudhary was sent to Rajya Sabha by SP in 2022 source says. It is learnt that during the seat-sharing formula for the coming Lok Sabha the relations deteriorated between SP and RLD source says. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav wanted three of his candidates to contest from Kairana, Bijnor and Muzaffarnagar on the symbol of RLD, and the remaining four seats to be contested by RLD, of its own source says. RLD chief was not happy with this decision and wanted to contest all seven seats with his candidates source says. In a deal with BJP, four parliamentary seats, Kairana, Bagapat, Mathura, and Amroha, have been given to RLD along with one cabinet seat in the UP government and one ministerial seat in the central government, source says. The shift was visible when the SP chief accepted the invitation to join Rahul Gandhi in the Nyay Yatra in UP source says. RLD claims to represent the Jat Kissans, and BJP is eager to have the support of this group in the light of Kissan agitation on MSP and other crucial issues, the source says. Akhilesh Yadav said that BJP knows well where, when and how to attack to gain support source says.
