The increase in independent candidates in the elections has changed the political scenario and national or regional political parties had to change their campaign style and priorities source says. Most of the independent candidates are rebels of the national or regional political parties source says. Out of a total of 4136 candidates,2087 were independent candidates source says. Nearly 30% of constituencies out of 288 constituencies were having rebel independent candidates source says. The presence of rebel independent candidates probably affected the chances of regional/national parties in the 50 constituencies source says.
