The outgoing CM tried and pleaded with the BJP high command to allow him to continue for at least six months but the request was rejected. After persuasions, he agreed to join the new government formed under Devendra Fadnavis as Deputy CM source says. He was very hopeful to get home ministry as was given to Fadnavis in his government but this promise also seems not going to be fulfilled source says.
It was informed that the Home minister of the central government and state government needs to have frequent discussions and Fadnavis is having better terms with the central government than Ajit Pawar and Shinde, so it will be better for CM to handle the home ministry himself source says. It's different that everyone knows about the relationship between Fadnavis and HM source. Shinde is sceptical about switching of loyalty by some of his MLAs, if not given plum positions soon source says. Though the BJP with the support of Ajit Pawar’s party had numbers to form government perhaps caste calculations and compulsions at the centre probably forced them to accommodate the Shinde group but with trimmed wings source says.
BJP requires only 8 MLAs to have the majority of its own and the party is very experienced in this act source says. Fadnavis, just after taking oath contacted leaders of the Uddhav group and Sharad Pawar group to convey that though principally they differ he is ready to get their work done if approached source says. This shows that he wants to keep the track open for the future also source says. Shinde is likely to face trouble in his party, if he fails to manage the good ministry source says.
