24 Akbhar Road- Congress Office Has Lots of Memories To Recollect?

The address of the new Congress office is 9A, Kotla Road but the Congress party is likely to retain this historical bungalow for use in Sewa Dal. The bungalow was allotted to Congress after a bifurcation led by Indira Gandhi in 1978. Before this allotment, the bungalow was with Aung San Suu Kyi, a Nobel Prize winner for peace.  The mother of Sue was residing in the house as an ambassador of the then-Burma source says.  Aung Suu spent her childhood in the bungalow and many times passed time with Rajiv and Sanjay on the sprawling lawn of the 24 Akbar Road source says. The bungalow was in the name of the senior leader of Congress and since then its under the control of the party, though many additions and alterations have taken place the bungalow carries historical values source says.
