Madhya Pradesh Cautious In Introducing UCC?

The Uttarakhand government has introduced the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), but the Mohan Yadav administration of MP is moving very slowly on this issue. A committee was formed on June 23, 2023, but so far, no significant actions have been taken. Sources suggest that the BJP is aware that the UCC will not only impact Muslims but also Adivasis source says. During the 2018 state elections, the UCC was a key agenda item, which resulted in the BJP losing nearly 33 out of 47 seats in areas where Adivasis hold significant electoral power.
