Promises Vs Reality: The Freebies Conundrum?

 This has become a practice now of political parties to announce as much as they can, free bees to the voters, because not to pay from party funds but from taxpayers money to woo the voters but later by this or that reasons not honour in totality source says. BJP-led coalition in Maharashtra announced just before elections,  ˜Ladli Bahna scheme in which rupees 1500/ was promised to be paid to all women on the lines of Madhya Pradesh, where the party got a positive response source says. After coming to power the coalition is trying to find ways to keep women out of the list of beneficiaries to reduce the number of beneficiaries to reduce the burden on all already unstable financial status of the state source says. The expenditure to meet the commitment is approximately rupees 45,000 crores.

The administration has already deleted approximately the names of 5 lakh beneficiaries and trying to find out reasons to reduce the list of beneficiaries source says. The weak financial condition of the state is also going to affect the other schemes already announced as cooked food to weaker sections of society, distribution of Kirana kits and free pilgrimage to senior citizens source says.
