In an eyebrow-raising oversight during his inaugural visit following his elevation to Chief Justice of India (CJI), the Maharashtra state government appeared to neglect the essential protocols reserved for such a distinguished dignitary. Justice BR Gavai, who dedicated five years to the High Court before ascending through the ranks of the Supreme Court to become the 52nd CJI of the nation, found himself in an unexpected situation source says.

According to established protocols, he should have been honored as a state guest, complete with a suite of facilities and enhanced security. Witnesses report that Justice Gavai, on this significant occasion, had to remind the state government of the respectful treatment he had received during his previous visits. The circumstances surrounding this lapse remain murky—did it result from pure negligence or was it a deliberate slight? source says.  Despite the reminder, the state administration took a full two days to formally recognize him as a state guest, which raised questions about their awareness and adherence to established customs.

For a seasoned leader like Chief Minister Fadnavis, who has held office twice now, such an oversight is wholly inexcusable. However, it seems the CJI opted to downplay the incident, characterizing it as a trivial matter not worth prolonging. Nevertheless, the ramifications of this lapse linger, casting a shadow over an otherwise momentous occasion. Some leaders of BJP says that CM is so occupied with internal matter of the party and government that not able to spare time discharge the normal responsibilities of the CM source says
