A recent study conducted by a research agency has unveiled some intriguing insights into the financial standings of India's Chief Ministers. Topping the list is Chandra Babu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, who boasts an impressive net worth of approximately ?931 crores. Following closely is Pema Khandu, the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, trailed by Karnataka’s Siddaramaiah, according to the reports source says. In stark contrast, the financial landscape for some of the country’s poorest Chief Ministers is striking. Mamta Banerjee, the CM of West Bengal, ranks near the bottom with a mere ?15 lakhs, barely a fraction of her wealthier counterparts. Omar Abdullah, the CM of Jammu and Kashmir, similarly finds himself in a challenging financial position alongside Kerala's Pinarayi Vijayan. The study also highlights a poignant disparity in gender representation among Chief Ministers.
Despite the fervent advocacy for women’s empowerment through initiatives like Matra Shakti, only two women hold the esteemed position of Chief Minister: Mamta Banerjee of West Bengal and Rekha Gupta of Delhi. This emphasizes the ongoing need for greater equity in political representation, especially in a country as diverse and vibrant as India source says.
