Recently, the charismatic leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Arvind Kejriwal, was reportedly seen engaging with a prominent business magnate from Punjab, proposing a coveted Rajya Sabha seat for him, as sources indicate. This bold move did not go unnoticed; the Chief Minister of Punjab swiftly voiced his concerns, urging Kejriwal to redirect his focus towards Gujarat and grant him exclusive control over Punjab.

According to insiders, the Chief Minister expressed apprehension that if all Rajya Sabha positions began to gravitate towards affluent tycoons, it would lead to a significant demoralisation of the party’s grassroots cadre, jeopardising their chances of retaining power in the upcoming elections. Currently, the Punjab state government is also grappling with the intricacies of the controversial land pooling system, and any further actions perceived as undermining the party's cadre could incite unrest among party loyalists, sources reveal.

However, it appears that a resolution has emerged from this tension, with both leaders reaching a consensus. They’ve decided to present a Rajya Sabha seat to a leader who possesses a robust grassroots following and can effectively support the party's future endeavors, ensuring a strategic approach to their political landscape source says.
