Assam CM has turned the assembly elections towards a division in communities and is directly hitting the minorities of the state source says. His style of campaigning has no doubt turned Hindu voters towards the BJP but the others shifted to the Congress party source says. The Muslim population is nearly 35 % though in SIR it's said that 6 to 7% voters have been deleted source says. Even if the 28-29% voters support the Congress party the BJP would have some difficult times source says. Hindu Bengali population is nearly 13-14% and is strongly with the BJP but the Muslim voters are not supporting the small parties said to be favouring Muslims and are strongly supporting the Congress party only source says. Ahom voters are also not happy with the style of Himanta Biswa and it is likely to cost the BJP heavily source says. Now the ball is in the court of the Congress leadership and if they play their cards carefully, Congress is likely to gain some ground in Assam, a top source said.
