Recently, Nagina MP Chandrasekhar Ravan entered Akhilesh Yadav's parliamentary office while surrounded by many party members, sources say. Akhilesh Yadav immediately requested his party members to allow him to have a dialogue with Rawan separately, a source says. In the beginning itself, Rawan said that in western UP the Dalit voters are likely not to support SP unless his party extends support to SP source says.
He wanted 25 seats to contest, which was politely refused, with the explanation that his party is to accommodate other like-minded parties, the source says. In reply to the counter reference that last time Jayant’s party was given 22 seats, Akhilesh said that out of 22, that party could win only eight seats and his party wants to accommodate friendly parties based on winnability only this time source says.
The SP chief further requested Rawan to meet Dharmendra Yadav for further discussions, a source says. On the third, coincidentally Dharmendra Yadav's birthday, Rawan met him. After exchanging greetings, he put forward his demand, the source says. According to sources, Dharmendra offered him only 10 seats and said that his Nagina constituency has more than 7.5 lakh Muslim voters, whose support made him victorious, the sources say.
All these Muslim voters are SP supporters source says. Dharmendra Yadav further said that he knows that his party Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram), does not have even ten winnable candidates to contest on these compromised seats so it would be better that ASP ( KR) should contest on only five seats and on the other five seats SP candidates on the symbol of his party would contest source says. Rawan was stunned with the offer, but without uttering a word, requested him to give some time to consult his party workers, the source says.
