The National Human Rights Commission has appointed 7 officers as Special Monitors of NHRC on various matters. According to the order, Senior IFoS(Retired) Amitabh Agnihotri will look after Environment Climate Change, former IAS Sanjay Agarwal will look after Elementary Education and Literacy, Dr. Manohar Agani will look after Public Health Healthcare and Hospital, former IPS Rakesh Asthana will look after Terrorism, Counter Insurgency, LWE, communal riots etc. Mrs. Jyostana Sitling will look after Livelihood skilling and Employment, former IPS officer Muktesh Chander will look after Cybercrime and Artificial Intelligence and R.K Sama will look after Water Sanitation and hygiene (WASH).
