Ever since Rahul Gandhi has resigned, a lot of names have been revolving around and one of them might become his possible replacement. It is said that now Congress will work in the 1:4 ration for 1 Chief and 4 Supporting Members. However, the needle for nominations will incline towards the experienced and senior leaders first. For the chief’s position, some names that are heard to be prominent are Mukul Vasnik and Sushil Kumar Shinde, whereas Shashi Tharoor, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Sachin Pilot could be nominated for supporting members. Now, everything depends upon CWC’s meeting, which has been postponed from 15th July to 28th July, 2019. Vidhan Sabha elections are nearing, which will take place in October in Haryana, Maharashtra and Jharkhand. In such a scenario, this indecisiveness about the selection of chief and supporting members might cause loss of confidence and faith in the stability of the party.
