Last Friday, a tribute to Late Ms. Sushma Swaraj was paid at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, located in 15th Janpath, New Delhi. She has left behind a huge number of her supporters. The number of people outgrew the capacity of the hall to such an extent that the hall couldn’t accommodate them. Thousands of people watched the last death rites being offered to the great leader on the screens placed outside the hall. Although, this function was meant to be only for the family members, one after another leaders and VIPs started joining in the death ceremony, and thus, the numbers increased. Some of the VIPs, who were spotted there were Shabana Azmi, Murli Manohar Joshi, S. Jaishankar, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Dr. Harshvardhan, Manohar Lal Khattar and JP Nadda among others. Vijay Goyal and Manoj Tiwari were spotted welcoming the guests an managing the protocols. Everyone knew that Late Ms. Swaraj was a huge devotee of Lord Krishna. Her landline’s tune is “Jai Radha Madhav Jai Kunj Bihari…..Hare Krishna Hare Hare.” She had an inclination towards the colour blue. Also, she used to ensure that either her house number or vehicle number should have the number 8. She had stayed for a long time in her government residence in 8 Safdarjung lane, New Delhi. During the ceremony, when the music group on the stage started singing her favourite devotional song, her husband Swaraj Kaushal and daughter Bansuri Swaraj couldn’t control their emotions and became heavily emotional. Bansuri came to the stage to address for a few minutes, wherein she mentioned that her mother used to roar in the parliament like a lioness, on the other hand, when she laughs, she chuckles like a five-year-old child. Team Witness in the Corridors shares its deepest and heartfelt condolences for this loss. May the soul rest in peace, and may the family gain strength to cope up with this loss.
