Seems government after many years addressed positively on public cry to discard subsidies on Parliament Canteen foods. Authorities say that by removal of subsidised items the government has saved 17 crores. The main question is how was taking benefit of subsidised items, MP’s for whom it was created or other staff other than Correspondence and Photographers, roaming around day and late evening to gather news. Sources say MP’s say that they prefer to take lunch at their house to avoid earlier cooked food in the canteen. They add that cooking food in the parliament building is not allowed so food is cooked outside and served in the canteen only. If it was so sources say why the government has not taken this step to avoid wastage of money because canteen was utilised by the persons it was created?
