BJP enthusiastic tried hard to have Nasdaq Screen at Time Square's main billboard to display a large size photo of RAMA during Janm bhumi Pujan karyakram. The proposal of the American India Public Affairs Committee was opposed by some Muslim groups and some other people. These people protested and filed a petition before the  Mayor of Washington. Hindus for Human Rights, Ambedkar King Study Circle, and Indian - American Muslim Council, sources say was having more influence on local administration and BJP had to contain themselves by beating drums at Times Square. BJP people could manage only with putting big size photo of Ram at nearby Harshale building for some time. Sources say people at Time Square were puzzled to see such large gatherings during the COVID period for the first time which also resulted in a traffic jam.
