It was a tough call for BJP to decide a seat-sharing formula in Bihar. The minister in the present central government and uncle of Chirag Paswan, Pashupati Kumar Paras, wanted to have five to six seats to contest, including Hajipur source says. Chirag Paswan was also demanding five seats to contest, including Hajipur source says. Chirag was also not comfortable with the presence of Nitish Kumar as CM because he firmly believes that bifurcation in the party has been at the instigation of Nitish Kumar source says. BJP perhaps feels that Uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras is now spent force and ignored his claim source says. It has been decided that BJP will contest on 17 seats, JD(U) on 16, Jeetan Ram Manjhi on one seat, and Kushwaha on one seat, source says. This shows that BJP believes that Chirag is the real successor of his late father, Ram Vilas Paswan, and the young Chirag has the guts to take his party ahead, source says. Pashupati Kumar Paras is likely to be adjusted as Governor in some state sources say.
