Before announcing the candidature of Akhilesh Yadav, the matter was discussed by party leaders with Lalu Yadav, a source says. It’s learnt that Lalu Yadav said that this political decision is to be taken by the SP leadership only source says. The latest survey report and after observing the ground realities, some sympathisers of Akhilesh Yadav suggested to him that the I.N.D.I.A. alliance is not very far from ruling BJP and to strengthen the alliance, more winning numbers of MPs are required and knowing well that if he fights the election from the traditional seat of Kannauj, there is every likelihood that he will bag the seat source says.
