When CM (of Gujrat), Modi had strongly opposed the idea of GST, but after becoming PM (of India) and taking over reins in Delhi, he changed his approach. GST is launched. It hasn’t been long enough to forget the video of Modi opposing GST, that had gone viral on the internet. When Manmohan Singh-led UPA government had proposed this system of tax reform, Modi had remarked saying that such a reform isn’t possible. Now, he has declared it as his government’s historical step towards easing the tax burden and equalizing taxes in all the states. PM has been monitoring implementation whilst examining all the hurdles that cause a hindrance to small and big businessman after implementation of GST. Loyal to BJP, Bhupender Yadav, President,  was assigned to take a feedback from the public and businessmen, to understand the criticism of implementation of GST as the poor preparedness before GST’s launch has not gone unnoticed by many observers and this has led PM to call for a meeting between Finance Minister and Party President. Arun Jaitley presented the official stand of implementation, and the Party President was carrying dossier prepared by Bhupender Yadav. There are rumours of Jaitley being asked by PM to resign because of the failure of proper implementation. Sources say that after a long meeting they both came out of the room and without responding to the reporters, they moved out. Hence, the rumours died down in spite of several trials by the news papers to fuel the fire.
