JD(S) of Devegowda has a strong following in south Karnataka. Party, under the leadership of son of former Prime Minister and former Chief Minister tried to have an alliance with BSP and NCP. Sharad Yadav of NCP, initially, wanted to have alliance, but later he wanted to give a direct fight between BJP and Congress, and avoid the split of votes against BJP walked out and so did BSP.
At this junction, sources say that JD(S) is not having any other option than to walk alone and manage some seats in south Karnataka and later on take it to bargain with the party having more MLAs to form the government - in King maker position.
